Utah students of all ages now have a chance to turn their startup ideas into reality. Registration is open for both the Tim Draper High School Utah Entrepreneur Challenge (HSUEC) and the Tim Draper Utah Entrepreneur Challenge (UEC) for college students. Together, the competitions offer $105,000 in cash and prizes for the 2025-26 season.

High School Utah Entrepreneur Challenge
Open to students ages 14–18, the HSUEC lets young innovators compete for $30,000 in cash and scholarships. The competition is managed by the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, a top-10 ranked interdisciplinary division of the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business, and sponsored by venture capitalist Tim Draper. Students gain experience in entrepreneurship through mentorship, feedback, pitch practice, networking, funding opportunities, and scholarships.

College-Level Utah Entrepreneur Challenge
The collegiate Tim Draper Utah Entrepreneur Challenge invites students from participating colleges and universities across Utah to compete for $75,000 in cash and prizes. Like the high school program, it is managed by the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute and sponsored by Tim Draper. Teams progress through multiple phases, including video submissions, public voting, and a final event in March 2026.

About the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute
Founded in 2001 with support from alumnus and mining entrepreneur Pierre Lassonde, the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute is a nationally ranked hub for student entrepreneurship and innovation.
