Bluffdale, Utah
Vector, a Bluffdale, Utah-based defense-as-a-service company founded by former special operations operators, has secured a $20 million loan from J.P. Morgan to expand its domestic drone manufacturing. This follows a $61 million Series A led by Pelion Venture Partners and Harpoon Ventures, positioning the company to scale production of small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) for U.S. military and law enforcement partners.
The latest funding will support Vector’s Utah facility, strengthen domestic supply chains, and expand inventory to meet growing demand for low-cost, attritable drones designed for modern combat. “This investment accelerates our mission to provide scalable, secure U.S.-made drone systems,” said CEO Andy Yakulis.
Hammer: Designed by Warfighters, Built for Scale
Vector’s signature product, the Vector Hammer, is a multi-use drone engineered for both deep sensing and strike missions. Outfitted with high-grade cameras, it can detect threats or targets up to 20 kilometers away, giving units actionable intelligence before engaging. Once threats are identified, additional Hammers can be deployed with droppable payloads or one-way kinetic strikes, combining reconnaissance and strike capability in a single platform.

The Hammer also features a gimbaled camera system and fiber-optic integration, which enhances resistance to jamming and signal interference compared with other FPVs in its category. Designed for industrial-scale production at Vector’s Utah facility, the Hammer is built to military-grade reliability standards and can be fielded in tens of thousands of units to meet modern combat requirements.
Operator-Driven Design Meets Scalable Manufacturing
Vector focuses on operator-driven design and rapid production of sUAS, including CUAS-as-a-service and sensor integration, ensuring fielded systems remain adaptable to evolving threats. By combining domestic manufacturing with practical field experience, the company aims to deliver high-performance systems that transition seamlessly from prototype to deployment.
Founded by defense technology experts and warfighters, Vector leverages deep operational experience to anticipate military needs and maintain an edge in unmanned systems. Its integrated solutions offer situational awareness, operational flexibility, and compliance with domestic supply-chain requirements.
