Provo, Utah — July 25, 2025
Angel Studios, the Provo, Utah-based media platform known for turning fans into investors, voters, and content evangelists, has announced Season 17 of its flagship comedy series, Dry Bar Comedy. Launching every weekend in August at its downtown Provo venue, the new season features a high-wattage lineup of performers including Caroline Rhea, Rob Schneider, Patrick Warburton, Adam Carolla, and a mix of rising and returning comics.
In keeping with Angel's’ fan-powered model, Season 17 represents another milestone in community-curated programming. Through its now-famous Angel Guild, made up of more than a million crowd investors and supporters, Angel has created a vertically integrated platform where audiences participate in content selection, funding, and distribution.
“We couldn’t be more excited to bring this level of talent to Provo,” said Neal Harmon, CEO of Angel Studios. “Season 17 is a celebration of everything Dry Bar Comedy stands for — hilarious performances that are smart and funny for everyone.”
A Billion Views and Counting
Founded in 2017, Dry Bar Comedy began as a digital experiment: record clean stand-up in front of live Utah audiences, then distribute clips and specials online with a family-friendly brand. That experiment has since exploded, with the platform racking up billions of views across YouTube, Facebook, and Angel's own apps.
The downtown Provo-based venue now serves dual purposes — both as a physical hub for weekend tapings and a content pipeline for global digital distribution. It also anchors Angel's increasingly diversified portfolio of comedy, drama, documentary, and animated content — all chosen by fans, not executives.
This summer’s lineup underscores that scale, featuring veteran comedians and newcomers across nine weekends:
- August 1–2: Musical satirist Dennis Blair, Dry Bar alum Jenna Kim Jones, and Canadian country comic Rory Gardiner; plus Monique Marvez, Dennis Regan, and newcomer Alycia Cooper.
- August 8–9: Last Comic Standing winner Alonzo Bodden, Tonight Show regular Raanan Hershberg, and comedy/magic crossover artist Murray Sawchuck.
- August 15–16: Torch Award-winner Jeff Allen, followed by sitcom star Caroline Rhea (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) and sketch favorite Shaun Johnson.
- August 22–23: Double headliner weekend with Rob Schneider and Patrick Warburton (of Seinfeld and The Emperor’s New Groove), plus Michael Yo and Myke Herlihy.
- August 29–30: Alligator Boys viral comic Shayne Smith and podcast pioneer Adam Carolla, wrapping up with Dry Bar favorites Kellen Erskine and J. Chris Newberg.
Dry Bar Comedy is part of Angel’s broader investor-aligned content model. Just as fans crowdfunded previous hit productions, they now help guide live programming through Angel Guild voting and financial backing.
Dry Bar’s growth offers a real-time case study in how platform-based content startups can bypass traditional studio models. Audience members aren’t just viewers; they’re backers. They vote on content. Some even earn returns. And now they’re helping scale live event production alongside digital distribution.
This approach echoes Angel's content reveal at last month's Illuminate, the company’s fan and investor summit, where it announced upcoming projects chosen by Guild members for upcoming months and beyond.
