Provo, Utah – October 24, 2025
Element Ventures today announced that Sam Andersen has joined the firm as an Investment Partner, strengthening its commitment to Utah’s growing technology and venture ecosystem.
Although the Element Ventures brand is new, the team—Jeff Danley, Jeff Burningham, Jamie Dunn, and Connor Sullivan—has been investing in Utah since 2008 under the Peak name. Over the years, they have raised multiple venture funds and backed some of the state’s most successful companies, including Divvy, Filevine, Podium, Owlet, Pestie, Pura, and many more.
Based in Salt Lake City, Andersen will focus primarily on pre-seed and seed investments, while also maintaining the fund’s flexibility to engage in later-stage or cross-sector opportunities.
“Utah has a unique blend of cultural, educational, and entrepreneurial strengths that consistently produces outsized successes,” Andersen said. “I’m excited to help Element Ventures continue building on that foundation, supporting founders who are defining the next decade of innovation in our state.”
Andersen brings extensive experience across investment, growth, and operational strategy, having worked at the intersection of finance, venture capital, and technology throughout his career.
“Sam fits perfectly with how we think about investing – practical, founder-first, and Utah-rooted,” according to Element Ventures co-founder Jeff Danley. “He understands what it takes to build and scale, has seen successful exits first-hand, and shares our long-term commitment to Utah’s success. We are thrilled to have him join Element Ventures, and we look forward to backing the next wave of standout founders and companies.”

Element Ventures continues to expand its role in supporting Utah’s startup ecosystem through early partnerships with high-potential founders and scalable platforms across the Mountain West.
