Squire, a nationally recognized accounting and advisory firm headquartered in Utah, announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire HintonBurdick, a respected regional CPA firm with offices in Utah, Arizona and Nevada.

The acquisition is expected to take effect January 1, 2026, and will significantly expand Squire’s service capabilities and geographic reach across the Intermountain West.

“This partnership represents the best of both worlds,” said Jonyce Bullock, CEO of Squire. “HintonBurdick is a well‑respected firm with exceptional people and a strong reputation. By coming together, we’re not only expanding our geographic reach, but also deepening our expertise … this acquisition allows us to provide even greater value to our clients and more opportunities for our people.”

The deal positions the combined organization as one of the larger CPA practices in the region, bringing together complementary strengths in audit, tax, advisory and industry‑specific expertise. Leaders of both firms said the integration is designed to deepen service offerings while enhancing resources available to clients and employees.

  • Stronger Talent Development: With access to a larger pool of expertise and resources, employees will have expanded professional development opportunities, mentorship, and career growth paths. This positions the combined firm to attract and retain top regional talent.
  • Regional Market Leadership: The combination strengthens their competitive position in the Intermountain West, giving clients confidence in stability, scale, and capabilities for both local and multi-state operations.
  • Client-Centric Benefits: Existing clients can expect continuity of service and relationship management while gaining access to broader expertise, specialized teams, and innovative solutions.
