Draper, UT – January 26, 2026
HydroBlok, the Draper, Utah-based innovator in advanced building materials, will host an open house on Wednesday, February 4th, from 6:00–8:30 p.m. during Utah Tech Week. Builders, contractors, and industry professionals will have the opportunity to see firsthand how HydroBlok’s proprietary water resistant exterior backer boards are reshaping construction.
HydroBlok panels combine a XPS foam core with cementitious layers reinforced by fiberglass mesh, creating a product that is water- and mold-resistant, fire-rated, lightweight, and highly energy-efficient. When used with stucco, a component in roughly half of new builds, HydroBlok can reduce material and labor costs by 20% or more, while eliminating multiple traditional steps and speeding construction timelines.

Since its launch, the product has seen broad adoption with highly positive feedback. Builder Greg Turner noted, “We save 3–4 days labor for each house, that’s really meaningful to us.” Mike Klauck of Mike Klauck Construction Company added, “HydroBlok was very easy to install, handle, and work with, and the weight savings provided a significant benefit for our installers. Our stone masons specifically mentioned how much they liked working with it and how well the stone adhered. The finished stucco job also turned out cleaner and smoother than with a traditional hard-coat system.”
HydroBlok has been proven in over 200,000 installations worldwide, including hotels and multifamily residential projects, and has been recognized as a Top Innovation at the 2025 International Builders Show. By manufacturing locally in Utah, HydroBlok has reduced costs, accelerated innovation, and expanded its reach from bathrooms to full-scale residential and commercial construction.

HydroBlok’s open house will feature hands-on demonstrations of the boards’ performance, highlighting faster builds, lower costs, and healthier construction.
