Economics Partners is a Salt Lake City-based transfer pricing firm supporting the tax industry with a suite of tools to enable transfer pricing. The firm team consists of specialists with advanced degrees in economics, mathematics, finance, and accounting. It's team also includes former investment bankers and partners from “Big Four” accounting firms.

In 2018 Economics Partners was acquired by Dallas-based Ryan, LLC, a provider of global tax services and software. Founded in 1991, Ryan is the largest firm in the world dedicated exclusively to business taxes. The company provides an integrated suite of federal, state, local, and international tax services on a multi-jurisdictional basis, including tax recovery, consulting, advocacy, compliance, and technology services.

Ryan has announced that Trenton Read and Bryson Lord, part of the core Economics Partners team, will lead Ryan Business Valuation, a full-service valuation practice within Ryan LLC, where they will apply their expertise in Tax Valuation and Transfer Pricing.

Read began his career as an investment banking analyst with Deutsche Bank, working on mergers and acquisitions and also helping consumer and business services companies with public and private equity and debt capital raises. Read served as CFO of OrangeSoda, an online marketing business, which he led to a sale to Deluxe Corp. and then Goal Zero, helping lead it to a sale to NRG Energy. Read received his B.A. and M.B.A. from BYU.

A partner at Economics Partners and a CPA, Bryson Lord leads the firm’s valuation practice. He has been involved in business valuations for strategic, partnership buy/sell situations, income tax, gift & estate and financial reporting purposes.

Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) by the American Institution of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Lord's accounting and finance experience includes the implementation of two Sarbanes-Oxley certification programs at public companies, advising clients on raising public and private capital offerings and valuing companies and investment securities.

“We are experiencing a growing global demand for transfer pricing and valuation services, which is being driven by an ever-increasing scrutiny on inter-company transactions in most jurisdictions throughout the world,” said G. Brint Ryan, chairman and CEO of Ryan.

“Our International Tax practice is in a stronger position now to provide our clients with an integrated suite of global tax services. Economics Partners’ expertise in transfer pricing is unequalled in the industry. Its sterling reputation is widely recognized by multinational corporations for providing expertise in navigating complex, multi-jurisdictional international tax issues. Our integration will deliver immediate value to our clients around the world and help drive Ryan’s global growth and market share.”
