South Jordan, Utah — October 16, 2026

DRYOUT announced that Urban Armor Gear’s Phone Recovery Pouch, which incorporates the Utah company’s Active Moisture-Removal Technology, has been named to TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026.

The innovation behind the pouch is DRYOUT’s moisture-removal material, designed to actively draw moisture away from exposed electronics and other valuables. According to DRYOUT CEO Romney Williams, TIME requires eligible inventions to be consumer products available for purchase, so the companies put forward the UAG Phone Recovery Pouch as a commercially available application of the technology. The recognition marks a milestone for the South Jordan-based advanced materials company as it expands partnerships with brands incorporating its moisture-removal materials into protective cases, bags and other products.

Introduced earlier this year as part of the UAG // DRYOUT collection, the Phone Recovery Pouch is designed to help recover electronics exposed to water, humidity and condensation. While conventional protective cases primarily aim to keep water out, DRYOUT says its material draws moisture away from exposed devices and traps it within an absorbent core. The material can then be regenerated for repeated use through sunlight, controlled heat or airflow.

“At UAG, we're always looking for innovative technologies that help us push the boundaries of protection,” said Casey Bevington, Chief Brand Officer at UAG. “Our collaboration with DRYOUT enabled us to go beyond protecting devices from physical damage and address what happens when moisture gets inside. We're thrilled to see the Phone Recovery Pouch recognized by TIME and proud of what our teams have created together.”

The announcement follows another significant collaboration for DRYOUT. In March, TechBuzz reported on the company’s partnership with Pelican Products to incorporate moisture-management inserts into selected protective cases. That collaboration addresses moisture trapped inside closed cases containing equipment such as cameras, computers, drones and night-vision devices.

Previously known as Absorbits, the company originated with founder Elliot Harris’s efforts to recover a water-damaged phone. Under CEO Romney Williams, DRYOUT has increasingly focused on integrating its materials into products made with consumer brands, original equipment manufacturers and other partners.

The UAG pouch extends that approach to everyday electronics, pairing UAG’s device-protection products with DRYOUT’s moisture-removal technology.

“This is an exciting milestone for DRYOUT and our partnership with UAG,” said Williams. “Leading brands are teaming up with DRYOUT because our Active Moisture-Removal Technology provides additional protection technology in the products their customers depend on. This recognition underscores what's possible when innovative materials and great product design come together.”

DRYOUT says it is pursuing applications across electronics, photography and video, outdoor equipment, tactical gear, storage, first-responder equipment and medical products.
