Biohive’s free October 1 summit will help Utah professionals reenter the workforce with practical guidance on returnships, AI-powered job searches, resumes, networking, and career opportunities.

A free October 1 event will offer practical tools, AI training, career guidance and connections for professionals returning after a career interruption.
Returning to the workforce after a career break can be difficult—particularly as artificial intelligence and other technologies rapidly change how employers recruit and evaluate candidates.
On October 1, Biohive will host Returnship Summit, a free summit designed to help professionals navigate that transition, whether their time away from work was related to parenting, caregiving, immigration or visa limitations, divorce, or other circumstances.
The event will feature a keynote from Carol Fishman Cohen, a leading voice on workforce reentry and returnships. Cohen took an 11-year career break before returning to the workforce and ultimately helped develop a returnship program at Bain Capital. She later wrote about the experience for Harvard Business Review and has continued working to help professionals and employers address career reentry.
The summit will also include a hands-on AI workshop led by Matt Pecsok, a University of Utah professor, focused on using AI prompts for resumes, LinkedIn visibility and job searches. Shay Baker, manager of the state's Return Utah program, will moderate a panel featuring people who have successfully navigated different types of career interruptions.
A resume workshop led by Lacey Marakis will address LinkedIn and job-search algorithms, including how keywords can affect a candidate's visibility. Attendees will also receive free professional headshots.
The summit is free and grant-funded through Biohive. Participants who want additional help after the event can also connect with Biohive's returner program, which provides ongoing mentoring, access to the Biohive network and job and talent-matching resources.
