Salt Lake City, Utah — April 22, 2026

The University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business ranked No. 3 among public schools (No. 10 overall) for MBA entrepreneurship in U.S. News & World Report's 2026 rankings. In a separate ranking released earlier, the school placed No. 5 among public schools (No. 8 overall) for undergraduate entrepreneurship.

The rankings reflect a broad set of programs run through the Department of Entrepreneurship & Strategy and the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, which serves students across all disciplines. Resources include startup grants, scholarships, mentorship, workshops, a makerspace, and Lassonde Studios — a five-story live-work hub where student founders can build companies while taking classes. The school also benefits from its location in Salt Lake City, a region with a strong startup economy.

On the graduate side, the Master of Business Creation (MBC) program is designed specifically for founders looking to grow and scale a company. It expanded to include an online option in 2023 and enrolled its first global cohort in Africa in 2024.

For undergraduates, the Lassonde Founders program offers scholarships and hands-on support for students actively launching businesses.

There's also Lassonde for Life, a free alumni program open to all University of Utah graduates that provides ongoing workshops and networking.
